Plain white paper lanterns are one of the easiest ways to fill a ceiling with soft, even decor. Each 12 in (30 cm) globe has a ribbed paper shade and comes with a wire expander that opens it into a round shape and holds it there. Hang them in clusters at different heights over a dessert table, string them along a patio, or paint and decorate them for a themed party. They ship flat and open in about a minute. Decoration only: keep the paper shade away from candles and hot bulbs.
